Autoimmune diseases such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis involve dysregulation of cellular responses and inflammation (Davidson & Diamond, 2001). Genetic factors can predispose individuals to develop autoimmune diseases, and it is important for this family member to be aware of potential signs and symptoms to promote early diagnosis and management (Cho, Kim, Choi, & Sung, 2019).
