Let's assume the dealer sold x units of petrol and 2x units of diesel. Therefore, the total fuel sold is x + 2x = 3x.
Given that the total fuel sold is 900,000 litres, we can write the equation 3x = 900,000.
Simplifying the equation, we get x = 900,000 / 3 = 300,000 litres.
The dealer sold 300,000 litres of petrol and 2 * 300,000 = 600,000 litres of diesel.
The profit from selling petrol is 520 * (300,000 / 1000) = 156,000 Ksh.
The profit from selling diesel is 480 * (600,000 / 1000) = 288,000 Ksh.
Therefore, the dealer's profit for the month is 156,000 + 288,000 = <<156000+288000=444000>>444,000 Ksh. Answer: \boxed{444,000}.
