In what ways are the students in your community alike, and in what ways are they different? Please include race, culture, language, exceptionality, class and gender. What programs are currently in place to accommodate their differing needs

There have been rumblings in your district because parent committees of various special interest groups have begun a campaign to have their children pulled out of their current classrooms and put into separate classes. Other groups are petitioning for special courses relevant to their particular race, culture and/or exceptionality. The superintendent has scheduled this topic for discussion at the next Administrative Council meeting that all building and district administrators attend. In preparation, the superintendent has asked you to prepare a briefing paper for the council. In what ways are the students in your community alike, and in what ways are they different? Please include race, culture, language, exceptionality, class and gender. What programs are currently in place to accommodate their differing needs? Does current research indicate that these programs are appropriate? After evaluating what is currently in place, make recommendations for addressing the particular challenges within your work environment.
